That Was The Week That Was 24-28 October 2022

No laughing matter

There were three reports released this week, the week that was, concerning climate change and global warming.  I do not think that they got the coverage they deserved, pushed out of the news cycle by wars and political upheaval around the world.  But they are no laughing matter for us in aviation.  They also put into stark context the timelines we have given ourselves for doing anything significant to make changes.  It is chilling to realise that the Kyoto Protocol was signed in 1997.

We have had three decades of kicking the ball downfield.  That might not be the winning strategy we hoped it would be.
